Plans moving along for this gig: The “Guitarists Who Do Stuff I Can’t” slot is filled, the “Inappropriate Cover Versions” slot is currently being rehearsed in the privacy of my studio (I’ll give you a clue; it involves a banjo) and I’m looking for suggestions for the “Jake Thackray Make-it-up-on-the-night Topical Song” slot. Any ideas? The plan is that we choose a first line for a song about a current news event, the audience pass a clipboard round and add lines which we then lash into shape during the break and perform in the second half.

Would anyone be interested in a Live Karaoke slot? If we can play it, you can sing it.

I’m doing a set at the Cabaret Futura, The Paradise, 19 Kilburn Lane  London W10 4AE on Dec 19th. This is a great night, hosted by the wonderful Richard Strange, punk/pop/art icon. There are other acts on the bill,well worth a visit to chase those Monday night blues away. £10 on the door.

I have 4 guest tickets: first come, first served!
